Merlin was a well-known neighborhood cat in Lakewood who was deeply loved by his family. His owner took him in after another neighbor no longer wanted him, and he quickly became part of a lively home with dog siblings, kids, and parents who cared for him deeply. Merlin was healthy and happy, with only minor health issues his mom was managing. Because of his gentle and friendly nature, Merlin would often approach neighbors. One day he approached someone who, in a single moment, would forever change his life — and Merlin was taken away from the family who loved him, never to be seen again. Merlin wasn't microchipped and hadn't yet been fixed due to financial circumstances, and his story became the inspiration behind The Merlin Project.
